A Spanish environmentalist political party founded in April 1994 as an electoral list (then called simply the Green Group) to run in the European elections that year. Since 2014, LV-GV has been part of the Zero Cuts and, in institutions where it does not run, it endorses Equo or an equivalent party. LV-GV is often referred to as the Green Group to avoid confusion with other organizations that use the name "The Greens."
The Green Group has been led by Esteban Cabal since its inception. It is the main political organization within the Greens' Unity Roundtable, which it established in 2006, and through which it coordinates with other parties such as the Ecopacifist Greens. It is not part of the European Green Party and should not be confused with the Federation of the Greens, the former Spanish representative of the EGP, from which LV-GV split in 1994 due to political differences.
From 2014 to 2020, they ran with Zero Cuts, a coalition formed and led by the Communist Unification of Spain (UCE) (to which the lead candidate belonged). Since May 2020, they have been almost inactive; where they do not run, they ask for votes for the candidacy that includes Verdes Equo in each election. In the 2023 municipal and regional elections in the Canary Islands, they were part of the Drago Verdes Canarias coalition.
President: Esteban Cabal
