Drago Party Canarias
Partido Drago Canarias
(Dracon Tree)
A Spanish political party based in the Canary Islands that emerged from the socio-political association Proyecto Drago-Canarias en la Encrucijada (Drago-Canary Islands Project at the Crossroads). The party articulates its political identity around concepts such as "Canarian obedience," sovereignty, the defense of the territory, and a confederal organizational structure.
Proyecto Drago was publicly launched on 24 October 2022, and Drago Canarias was registered with the Ministry of the Interior's Registry of Political Parties on 16 December of the same year. In the 2023 regional, island, and municipal elections, it ran as part of the Drago Verdes Canarias coalition, along with Verdes Equo and Los Verdes, obtaining its first institutional representation with two councilors in the San Cristóbal de La Laguna City Council. In the general elections held later that same year, it participated in the Sumar coalition, without obtaining its own representation in the Cortes Generales (Spanish Parliament).
Following the 2023 electoral cycle, the party began a process of reorganization and territorial expansion by establishing island and municipal structures in different parts of the archipelago. Its institutional representation is maintained in the San Cristóbal de La Laguna City Council, where it has two councilors, Alberto Rodríguez and Carmen Peña.
President: Alberto Rodríguez
