Overview

A Portuguese party founded in 1973. It is considered the Portuguese section of the IV International, with a Trotskyist nature.

It was founded in December 1973, with João Cabral Fernandes as its first leader.

In 1975, it joined the Revolutionary Unity Front (FUR).

In 1978 it merged with the Workers' Revolutionary Party (PRT), giving rise to the Revolutionary Socialist Party (PSR), currently extinct after integration into the Left Bloc (BE).
