Independent Herrenian Group

A Spanish regionalist political party from the island of El Hierro. It emerged in the 1979 elections and held the presidency of the El Hierro Island Council from then until 2019, except for the periods between 1991 and 1995 and between 2011 and 2015 when the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) held the presidency.

In 1987, it first ran in the municipal elections, winning the mayoralties of Valverde and Frontera, the two municipalities El Hierro had at the time, although it lost both mayoralties in 1991. In the 1989 elections, it won the Senate seat corresponding to the island constituency of El Hierro.

Despite not joining the Independent Groups of the Canary Islands (AIC), it did show its support for this party in the 1987 and 1995 regional elections, although it ran under its own banner. Later, it switched its support to the Canarian Coalition in regional elections, sometimes running under the CC banner and other times as AHI-CC, both in the regional elections and in the elections to the Island Councils and municipalities.

It also supported the Canarian Coalition (CC) in subsequent elections to the Parliament of the Canary Islands and the Senate, sometimes running under the CC banner and other times under the CC-AHI banner. In the most recent elections, for the Parliament of the Canary Islands, the Island Councils, and the Municipal Elections, it has run under the CC-AHI banner.

At the end of May 2012, he announced that he was breaking his collaboration agreement with the Canarian Coalition. In 2015, he signed another collaboration agreement with the Canarian Coalition, which he maintained until January 2023, when he announced that they would run independently in the 2023 municipal elections.
