National Progress Party
Nationella framstegspartiet
A moderate conservative party in the second chamber that was formed in 1906 through a breakaway from the Lantmanna Party. The chairman was Hans Andersson i Nöbbelöv.
The National Progress Party's goal was to unite the common interests of the countryside and the cities in a better way than in the rural-dominated Lantmanna Party. The number of members of parliament was 42 at the time of its founding, but gradually decreased to 30 in 1911. After the second chamber election in 1911, the party reunited with the Lantmanna Party in 1912 under the new name Farmers' and Bourgeoisie Party, which came to be called "the second chamber right". The National Progress Party is thus one of the historical predecessors of the Moderate Coalition Party.
Chairperson: Hans Andersson i Nöbbelöv
