Dynamizing Groups of Popular Unity

Grupos Dinamizadores de Unidade Popular

A Portuguese party, created in 1976, but which became extinct before the end of 1977, and officially dissolved in 1997. Sponsored and led, although unofficially, by Otelo Saraiva de Carvalho, it had a gas station character, aimed at creating a popular front open to all revolutionary anti-fascists, in the fight for socialism, opposing any attempted fascist conspiracy that the PSD and CDS might want to impose.

He published the bulletin "A Luta Continua" During his existence he only ran in the 1976 municipal elections where he failed to obtain more than 2.5% of the votes. Its disintegration resulted in the subsequent creation of the Unitary Workers Organization (OUT), the embryo of the Global Project that included the 25th of April Popular Forces and the Popular Unity Force.
