La Aurora Marxist Organization

La Aurora Organización Marxista

A Spanish communist political party of Trotskyist affiliation, founded in 1974. Since 1998, it has been part of United Left and United and Alternative Left, within which it promoted the Redes and Bastida currents, respectively.

For thirty years, PORE (later POR) was led by Aníbal Ramos (pseudonym of Arturo van den Eynde during its clandestine activities) and opposed the reformist path adopted during the Transition. He opposed the social policies of Felipe González's governments and the repression of the ETA-led Basque National Liberation Movement (being one of the first to denounce the "dirty war"), as well as the outlawing of Basque nationalist left-wing organizations (Batasuna among others), the imprisonment of their leaders, and the government's policy of dispersing Basque prisoners.

Political Secretary: Arturo van den Eynde (1974 – 2001), Francesc Matas Salla (2001 – present)
